Evo 5 Enhancement

Post by 4carcare on Wed Aug 08, 2012 8:21 pm

Hi,

This Evo was booked in for an enhancment for Neil the owner of Carbits Ltd. He is the 2nd owner of the car and its totally standar pushing out 330bhp Surprised . Neil has looked after the car very well and only uses it on weekends. Neil showed me some of the extras the car has, it has spray button to cool the turbo down, it sprays water into the intercooler he said and also another button which gives the car an extra 30bhp for 6 seconds Very Happy.

Neil had opted that the car to be applied with Surf City products as he was very pleased with these products due to quality and small amount of product you have to use.

The evo was dropped off and this is how it looked like on arival

As always i clean the arches, tyres and wheels first. Arches and tyres were cleaned with espuma g202, and the rims were cleaned with espuma revolution.

Once the wheels were cleaned, tardis was applied to remove any tar and iron x was used to remove any iron fillings.

Next was to clean the nooks and crannies, espuma g202, weak/mod mix was used along with a soft bristle brush. This car did have a lot of nooks and crannies due to the curves and body kit on the car.

The car was then snow foamed with Bilt Hamber Autofoam to remove any dirt and grime sitting on the paintwork.

Change of colour

Next the car was washed, Surf City Pacific blue shampoos was used

Once washed, iron x was used to remove any iron fillings, here it is at work

The car was bought into the unit to be clayed. Bilt Hamber clay was used with water. The car was then dried with surf city drying towel and air.

This is what the car revealed after it was fully cleaned

The evo was then masked up and paint reading were taken to asses the depth of the paint.

Surf City Beyond clay was chosen to be the choice of polish. This is an all in one polish which can be used to correct or to refine the paint. This is done by using different types of pads, to fully correct you would use wool/cutting pad and move down to a polishibg/finishing pad to refine. The product does state that you do not need to clay the car before applying this product. I have tested it, but still feel if you want the car surface to be really clean, it would be worth to clay it.

After polishing it left this

The car was then de-masked and Surf City Nano Seal was applied to the whole of the car including rims and glass, this was left overnight to cure.

Next morning the sealant was taken off and Surf City Nano Glaze was applied and left to cure for 20 minutes. This left this

2 coats of Surf City Barrier Reef wax were applied and left to cure for 20 minutes. Whilst this was curing, the rubber and plastic were dressed with Surf City Black Max and the tyres dressed with Beyond Black. These products are silicone free and do not streak in the rain. Also the durability is really good, best way to apply with these is with minimum product which goes along way and bonds better to the car.

Exhaust was treated to Surf City Killer chrome and then speed demon was applied to the whole of the car. Here are the pics of the finished car. Enjoy...

Then some outside shots

Neil was pleased and then said he might not sell it looking like this Laughing

Any c&c welcome, thanks for reading, hoped you enjoyed it.
