Hey guys,
I’ve decided to sell the DA6 as I’m out of work at the moment and I just don’t drive it. We use my girlfriend’s sensible diesel to do all the daily chores and it just doesn’t get used. The last few months in the good weather we’ve had, it has been taken to a few meets and popped out to see friends on a weekend that is all.
This car gets so much attention its unreal, I think for a lot of people they have no idea what it is, or if they do they have never seen one in the flesh. If you know nothing about theese cars then they are absolutely full to the brim of gadgetry and quirky little bits that will make any enthusiast smile.
When ive been to meets and shows people are always intrigued and ask questions, Most are so amazed when they see digital climate control, electric windows and sunroof, Power folding mirrors, power steering and a heater for your balls?!
Its very long and low slung like nothing else that’s on the road. but a quick flick of the head lights and you see where the 96 spec gets its good looks from as It has the built in yellow foglights that the 96 spec has. The front and rear lights are the same, as is the boot.
The DA drives amazingly Its happy to be cruised down the motorway at 80 mph and because the suspension is standard the ride is nice and plush not bone shakingly stiff. It does have that little bit of smooth that makes driving it a pleasure even over the more uneasy of roads. But don’t think of it as an old soft fuddy duddy.
The DA handles phenomenally I’m unsure if its because of the length or just general set up but it’s a bit of a animal through the bends, It seems to have great balance and poise with a bucket load of grip at both front and rear. Having a little softer suspension helps at the rear as it gives it that little bit of movement that I feel that my previous ef9 track car lacked, this makes for some pretty epic driving. It was recently Laser Aligned to a setting similar to my previous EF9 minus a little camber. I feel this has also aided and helped the way it handles medium to fast corners (It were already very capable in slower corners)
The brakes are all standard but recently rebuilt and make for some seriously awesome stopping power, Im very impressed with theese they are equally as good as my 282’s from my old EF9 they are extremely sharp and strong.
It has the same PAS as my old EF9 also which I feel is the best power steering system Honda did, its just assisted so you feel the road like you would a none power steering car with the aid of super easy parking.
I will say this is the best handling honda ive ever owned.. Even in the wet. VERY bold statement as my previous cars have been fully track prepped animals. But the DA is honestly a cut above the rest, don’t get me wrong its no where near as fast as my old eg sir or EF9 but it drives so much better its more predictable and stable then the eg but less stiff and grippy then the ef9
But don’t think that its been boy raced around town this car has had so much love in my ownership. The last 3 months its been serviced twice with opie oils new fan belt lowered the idle and cold idle so it sits bang on now ,New timing belt, New clutch and release bearing theres probably more but my memory is a blank, the DA still has the 112 mph limiter.
The DA still has its origional Bronze tinted windows all around as with all its interior including a double din stereo which includes a radio/tape player (Jdm Frequency bbc radio 2 only FTW) and a Gathers Cd player. All its seats are in fantastic condition with little to no bolster ware the rear seats look barely sat in, Ive complemented all this with a Momo optional steering wheel and my eg6 sir floor mats. Generally a very nice and happy place to spend time in, a sleek black dash with no colours clashing inside and everything is very comfortable and easy on the eye.
The DA has full Japanese service history with all original handbooks and manuals, these are very rare to have as they are not normally given when imported. It also has an absolute shed load of history and you can clearly see from the history and receipts it’s been very very well looked after and wanted for nothing in its previous years. There has been absolutely thousands spent over 15 years.
This is shown from the underside of the car, its immaculate and absolutely solid all the lower arms suspension components arb’s braces sills and chassis rails are absolutely solid and all still under sealed there’s definitely no sign of rot underneath.
B16A engine is perfect the previous owner tells me it were completely rebuilt in his ownership not so many kms ago though I cant prove this I feel this justifies a few of the following. The car does not smoke on idle, cold idle, warm or vtec. The B16A doesent use any oil, any water, temp gauge doesn’t move from just under the halfway mark, Recently at a dyno day the DA made 161 bhp 122 Ft/lbs tourqe please remember this is a first gen B16A so is 160 standard. The 2 other B16’s that were there were B16A2’s which both made 170 bhp (169 and 170) both made a fair bit less tourque then mine made (107 and 112 if memory serves correct) So all sighns point to a very healthy engine.
It also benafits from having a much desired J1 gearbox which is a 4.4 FD cable box though it has no LSD I have not felt it has suffered and I have never had any wheel spinning issues or serious lack of grip. The 4.4 FD is nice and short and you soon whip through the gears, it makes for some very impressive acceleration and getting up to speed is a doddle, it completely transforms what most people would consider a throw away B16A.
Todays pictures.
Map lights.
Amber interior light.
Bad bits.
The car does suffer from a few bits of stupidness that I should have sorted but have not had the enthusiasm / knowledge / time
Bodywork
Bodywork is not perfect the bonnet and rear arches being the worst offenders rust is just starting to peak its ugly little head through, it is SOLID but its just starting to surface. The bonnet has a fair few dinks and I can spot previous attempts to spray it up. It will shine up on a polish but not like the rest of the car.
Theres a small crack in bootlid that seems to have split the paint and bubbled it up.
There are a few little dinks down the body on the sides.
Small rust patch on bottom of drivers door
Theres a little dink on the roof next to the sunroof.
Random scratches around the body.
Some little crazing on both front and back bumpers.
A small scrape on the front bumper.
Interior
Radio only plays bbc radio 2
One of the door handle surrounds has snapped
Passenger window switch plastic looks to have been repaired in the past
AC has been removed (All heater controls work hot and cold all settings all tempretures etc)
Boot struts wont hold boot open unless its hot.
Horn does not work (all wiring is present and worked before I changed the steering wheel just need 1 more wire of a connector)
Only front left speaker works (I have not looked any further into this as I barley drive the car and after the ef9 that had no radio it has not bothered me in the slightest)
Gathers Cd player illuminates and accepts cds but will not play them and spits back out I think this is most probably down to a faulty laser reader inside.
Has 2 holes in the parcel shelf for speakers which I have covered up with some oldschool jdm box speakers but are not wired up. Pictures up top.
Chassis.
Drivers side RTA could do with being replaced its not in desperate need but its looking a little tired
Exhaust has a centre box which hangs a little on the low side, a good 2 or 3 inches lower then the rest of the exhaust and catches on full road speed bumps and random humps in the road. ( a little care when driving on shitty roads is needed I have not dented the box at all maybe just a few scratches on the actual box) Could be simply chopped out and straight pipe welded in.
Random pictures (Oldest 3 months ish newest 2 days ago)
Overall it’s a very well rounded B16 Integra, the drive is good enough to impress most frequent track users and general every day drivers its very easy to drive and is a true pleasure to own. Its very comfortable and inside is very clean. Its had plenty of attention at the meets and shows, its paint always looks fresh and gleams and always looks amazing in pictures. People tell me its in wicked condition but im very anal when it comes to cars hence the bad bits. To most it probably wouldn’t bother them or would consider it minor but for me I feel it lets down a stunning DA.
Unfortunately I have no means or have enough knowledge to sort the bodywork but I can assure you it’s a very very well looked after car that polishes up great and will always put a smile on your face. You wont ever drive it down the road without people looking pointing an staring and people always comment in petrol stations or at traffic lights how they’ve never seen one an its fantastic condition.
Finally i know there are a few bad bits and ive not tried to hide any of them, just wanted to be completely honest about the car. The bad bits are very minor compared to the overall picture and the buyer will not be disapointed one little bit.
I’m sure there’s tones I’ve missed and I will add and take away content from this advert when I see fit or remember. All pictures are recent and I will add pictures as I find/take them.

Problem I have fella is ive not got a job at the moment and I've been using a traders policy for the last 2 years an now the company have decided I'm too young to insure so won't let me renew. I have no crashes no claims and 5 years no claims on mine and my dads traders policy so I'm stuffed at the moment.

thats pretty gutting im not looking forward to insuring the eg6 mrs was paying £3600 with it being the import, i knew it was bad but not that bad untill when she insured her yaris t sport and they told her her insurance had dropped by £2500 lol,
im 25 though so hoping it may not be too bad, if all else fails cant you just insure it as a uk spec i know its naughty but i did the same with my old st205 gt4 because i was only 22 it made a huge difference even though it was completly obvious when getting pulled over that the car was down as 2004 because thats when it was imported, just thinking of ideas for you because insurance is getting a joke now its unfair and nowonder people are taking the piss and not being honest.

Cheers for the advice mate.
But a 1 ltr corsa is about 2grand so I don't stand much of a
Chance for the next 2 years when I can get back on the traders.
Hence 700 cc supermoto 600 quid! No traffic just would suck on wet days haha.
